How the simulation works
Each trial samples annual returns around the expected return and volatility you selected. Contributions are added before retirement; inflation-adjusted spending and Social Security are applied afterward. A trial succeeds only when the portfolio remains above zero and funds the selected lifestyle through the planning age.
